In-form duo Mark Allen and Kyren Wilson face off in the biggest match of their respective careers to date as they bid to be crowned 2018 Masters Champion on Sunday.

Seeded eight and thirteen respectively, Allen and Wilson were not among the names widely tipped to triumph this week but have produced a series of superb displays to come through the elite field at Alexandra Palace and move to within touching distance of the trophy.

History beckons for one of these two attacking talents as they bid to become the latest new name on the sport's most prestigious invitational silverware.

Allen has once again stepped up to the mark at The Masters, producing perhaps his best form of the season so far to break new ground in this iconic competition.

The 31-year-old kicked off his run with a 6-3 victory over Belgian debutant Luca Brecel, before dismantling defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan by six frames to one.

The Ulsterman then defied a brace of centuries in dispatching another multiple Masters Champion in John Higgins to remain on course for his first major title for almost two years.

Wilson, meanwhile, has underlined his position as one of snooker's future greats by reaching the final in only his second appearance at The Masters.

After a First Round exit to Ding Junhui on debut 12 months ago, 'The Warrior' has flourished upon his return to Ally Pally, defeating two former world finalists and a two-time Masters winner.

Wilson opened up with a 6-4 win over Barry Hawkins before thrashing a resurgent Mark Williams 6-1 and sensationally coming from 5-2 down to edge out Judd Trump in a last-frame decider.

Wilson is bidding to add to his maiden major title - the 2015 Shanghai Masters - and aged 26, is looking to become the youngest winner of this tournament since Ding Junhui in 2011.

This will be the seventh competitive meeting between these two players, with both having claimed three wins apiece dating back to 2012.

Wilson recorded a narrow 6-5 victory in their last encounter (the Semi-Finals of the 2017 World Open) and also prevailed 13-9 over 'The Pistol' in the Second Round of the 2016 World Championship.

The final gets underway from 1.30pm GMT, resuming to a finish from 7pm, and will be contested over the best of 19 frames at the Alexandra Palace in London.
