Mark Williams aims to remain in contention for a third Masters title by overcoming Kyren Wilson in the Quarter-Finals at Alexandra Palace on Thursday evening.

A resurgent Williams came from 5-3 down to edge out world number one Mark Selby in his opening round match and will be keen to kick on from that impressive scalp.

The Welsh ace, who stormed to victory in last November's Northern Ireland Open, is vying for his first Masters triumph since 2003 - when he defeated Stephen Hendry in the final at the Wembley Conference Centre.

Williams is appearing at this stage of The Masters for the first time in five years and has seemingly maintained the sublime run of form he showcased in the first half of the season to climb back up to tenth in the world rankings.

Wilson, meanwhile, recorded his first ever win in this prestigious invitational by dispatching 2016 runner-up Barry Hawkins 6-4 in Round One.

The Kettering cueist has two ranking finals to his name this season and appears to have got back into his groove after a string of early exits towards the back end of 2017.

The 26-year-old will be quietly confident of mounting a charge under the radar this week in the absence of a clutch of the key pre-tournament title contenders.

Wilson has won two of his three previous competitive meetings with Williams, including a 5-1 rout in the Quarter-Finals of last year's World Open - in which he produced three century breaks.

Their latest show-down gets underway from 7pm GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 frames at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Either third seed Judd Trump or 2015 Masters champion Shaun Murphy will await the winner in Saturday's Semi-Finals.
