Snooker's most prestigious invitational returns as the elite top 16 vie for Masters glory at Alexandra Palace, and you can follow all the latest results and fixtures here.

The top 16 players in the world rankings descend on the capital to battle it out for £600,000 in prize money in what promises to be an explosive start to the 2017 campaign.

An ever-present on the snooker calendar since 1975, the Masters has provided some of the most iconic moments in the sport's history and its 43rd staging looks set to be as enthralling as ever.

Ronnie O'Sullivan returns as defending champion and the number one seed as he bids to to add to his tally of six Masters crowns to eclipse Stephen Hendry and becoming the outright most successful player in the competition's history.

The local favourite, however, is set to face a formidable challenge from a number of in-form rivals, including reigning UK Champion and three-time Masters king - Mark Selby.

John Higgins is targeting a third Masters crown, while the likes of Judd Trump, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and Ding Junhui will also be vying for glory. Kyren Wilson is the only debutant in this year's 16-man field.

As of 2017, the Masters trophy has been renamed in memory of Paul Hunter - the three-time Masters winner who tragically passed away aged 27 in 2006.

The tournament runs from January 15-22 at London's Alexandra Palace, with all matches up to and including the Semi-Finals contested over the best of 11 frames and the final best of 19.
