Live Snooker on Sunday: Snooker Shoot-Out 2017 Day Four preview and order of play

Crowd favourite Jimmy White returns to action (credit:World Snooker)

Shaun Murphy headlines the Third Round action as he faces Sam Craigie on the final day of the 2017 Snooker Shoot-Out, while crowd favourite Jimmy White locks horns with Ross Muir at the Watford Colosseum.

After 128 players arrived at the single-frame event on Thursday, the remaining 32 will battle it out over five rounds on Sunday with the eventual winner receiving the top prize of £32,000.

Second seed Murphy is the highest-ranked player remaining in the competition and, although the Magician is one of the favourites to go all the way in Watford, he will certainly not take any chances against Gateshead’s Craigie.

Meanwhile, veteran White is looking to reach the Last 16 of this tournament for the first time and bolster his ranking position.

'The Whirlwind' had a nervy finish to his second-round clash with Chen Zhe on Friday before eventually prevailing a narrow 45-44 winner, and know he cannot afford to take anything for granted at this stage against Scotland’s Muir.

Fellow crowd favourite Ken Doherty is likely to put on another entertaining display for the fans when he plays James Cahill, as will the energetic Zhang Yong against former professional Andy Hicks, who knocked out two-time World champion Mark Williams in the second round.

Hicks is one of the four amateurs remaining in the competition along with Ashley Hugill and Daniel Womersley, who face Michael Georgiou and 2015 runner-up Xiao Guodong respectively, while Steven Hallworth’s reward for knocking out former champion Michael White is a clash with Daniel Wells.

Anthony McGill goes head to head with Northern Ireland Open champion Mark King in a tasty clash as Eden Sharav, who defeated fifth seed Barry Hawkins in round two, takes on Jack Lisowski.

2014 winner Dominic Dale represents the only chance of this year’s Shoot-Out providing the first multiple champion of the event. The Spaceman takes on David Grace, while 2016 finalist Luca Brecel continues his quest to go the extra step against German Masters victor Anthony Hamilton.

The other matches see Joe Swail face Jak Jones and David Gilbert take on Alfie Burden, as Fergal O’Brien plays Liam Highfield and Jimmy Robertson and Darryl Hill clash with Cao Yupeng and Li Hang respectively.

Play at the Watford Colosseum gets underway at 12pm GMT on Sunday, with the remaining 32 players battling it out over five rounds for the right to be crowned the winner of the 2017 Snooker Shoot-Out.
