The Group Stage of the 2017 Snooker World Cup draws to a close in Wuxi on Friday as a number of nations scramble to secure places in the knock-out phase.

Following the completion of the fifth and final set of round-robin fixtures, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarter-Finals.

Group D is shaping up for the most intriguing finale as the top four teams battle it out for the two available qualification places.

Unbeaten Northern Ireland lead the way ahead of their clash with Israel - who occupy third spot with 11 points.

Thailand, who sit in second level on points with Northern Ireland, look to inflict a fifth straight defeat on rock bottom Cyprus to seal their spot in the latter stages.

John Higgins and Anthony McGill of Scotland, joint third on 11 points, face second from bottom India - who were whitewashed 5-0 by Thailand on Thursday.

England's decorated duo of Judd Trump and Barry Hawkins are already assured of a place in the Last Eight but will be out to progress with five wins from five by overcoming rivals Australia.

Neil Robertson and Kurt Dunham are joint second and must better Iran's result in order to join England at the business end of the competition.

In-form Iran take on Malta - who can still mathematically make the top two - but would require a minimum of four points plus other results to go in their favour.

Meanwhile, Switzerland and Pakistan battle it out to avoid finishing bottom of the Group C table, with Pakistan having won just five frames from a possible 20 so far.

Mark Williams and Ryan Day look to continue their formidable partnership for Group A leaders Wales when they take on second-placed Brazil.

Wales have already done enough to seal their progression but now aim to dent the hopes of the samba snooker duo - who are locked level on 12 points with China B.

Yan Bingtao and Zhou Yuelong, the defending champions for China B, face Malaysia and know they must better Brazil's result in order to go through.

The bottom two in the group lock horns as Norway and Finland go out in search of their first and solitary victory of the tournament.

Luca Brecel and Jeff Jacobs of Belgium bid to book their place in the Quarter-Finals by seeing off the experienced Republic of Ireland duo of Ken Doherty and Fergal O'Brien.

The crunch clash in Group B sees local superstars Ding Junhui and Liang Wenbo of China A battle it out with Marco Fu and Au Chi Wai of Hong Kong in an effective shoot-out to progress.

Elsewhere, the bottom two nations face off as Germany take on Egypt with both eyeing their first victory to bow out on a high.

The action gets underway from 6am BST, with all group stage matches contested over the best of five frames (all five frames must be played) at the Wuxi City Sports Park Stadium.
