Live Snooker on Wednesday: World Cup 2017 Day Three preview and order of play

England will be aiming to maintain their 100% start to the 2017 Snooker World Cup when they face Iran on day three, while China A and Wales are also looking to continue their unbeaten records at the Wuxi City Sports Park Stadium.

The English pairing of Judd Trump and Barry Hawkins have won nine out of 10 frames so far and will want to build on that on Wednesday.

However, they must not take anything for granted against the Iranian duo of Hossein Vafaei and Soheil Vahedi, who have also enjoyed two wins out of two in Group C.

That clash is not the only one between the two remaining unbeaten teams in a group. Reigning champions China B lock horns with Brazil in Group A, while Northern Ireland and Thailand go head to head in Group D.

Elsewhere, Ding Junhui and Liang Wenbo will be eager to maintain China A’s winning start to the tournament against Egypt, as will Mark Williams and Ryan Day for Wales against Finland along with Luca Brecel’s Belgium against Germany.

Meanwhile, Scotland – comprised of John Higgins and Anthony McGill – are looking to make it two wins on the bounce against Israel, as are the Republic of Ireland’s Ken Doherty and Fergal O’Brien in a tasty clash with Marco Fu’s Hong Kong.

Neil Robertson is aiming to inspire Australia to another victory when they face Switzerland, while Pakistan are looking to claim their first win of the tournament against Malta.

The other two matches on day three see two nations also battling it out for a first success in Wuxi, with the losing side in both cases facing the serious threat of elimination.

That is the scenario facing Norway, who prepare to lock horns with Malaysia, and India, as they play Cyprus.

Day three of the 2017 Snooker World Cup breaks off at 6am BST on Wednesday, with all group matches contested over the best of five frames at the Wuxi City Sports Park Stadium.
