Live Snooker on Tuesday: World Cup 2017 Day Two preview and order of play

Neil Robertson and Australia must get a result against Pakistan on Tuesday

Neil Robertson will be looking to inspire Australia to bounce back when they face Pakistan on day two of the 2017 Snooker World Cup, while Scotland aim to respond against Cyprus at the Wuxi City Sports Park Stadium on Tuesday.

The Australians suffered one of the surprise defeats on day one after going down 3-2 against Malta, who had Alex Borg to thank following his impressive displays against Robertson and Kurt Dunham.

Scotland’s John Higgins and Anthony McGill also suffered an unexpected loss after being defeated by Thailand, who face Israel on Tuesday, by the same scoreline and both nations will be looking to bounce back against Pakistan and Cyprus respectively.

Meanwhile, England’s Barry Hawkins and Judd Trump are aiming to build on their momentum against the Maltese, as are Ding Junhui and Liang Wenbo when China A face Germany.

Mark Williams and Ryan Day will also want to pick up from where they left off when Wales lock horns with Malaysia, while reigning champions Zhou Yuelong and Yan Bingtao of China B are looking to make it two wins from two against Norway.

Hong Kong – led by Marco Fu – and Northern Ireland – led by Mark Allen – enjoyed 4-1 victories on the opening day and will be looking for more of the same against Luca Brecel’s Belgium and India respectively, as will Brazil when they take on Finland.

Elsewhere, the Republic of Ireland and Switzerland are already playing catch-up after suffering comprehensive 5-0 whitewashes on Monday. Fergal O’Brien and Ken Doherty are desperate to respond for the Irish against Egypt, as are the Swiss against Iran.

Day two of the 2017 Snooker World Cup breaks off at 6am BST on Tuesday, with all group stage matches contested over the best of five frames at the Wuxi City Sports Park Stadium.
