Two in-form outsiders battle it out for the right to be crowned 2018 European Masters champion on Sunday as Joe Perry faces Jimmy Robertson in Lommel.

World number 25 and 36 collide in an unlikely final as they vie for the fifth ranking silverware of the season and £75,000 top prize.

Perry is bidding for his second ranking title, three years on from his maiden triumph at the Players Tour Championship Finals, having won through to his first televised final since the 2017 Masters.

The Cambridge cueist has enjoyed a welcome return to form in Belgium this week after a barren 18-month spell which saw him drop out of the world's top 16.

Perry kick-started his run with a 4-1 victory over Oliver Lines before edging out Andrew Higginson in a last-frame decider in Round Two.

He then saw off Kyren Wilson, a two-time tournament winner this season, with a commanding 4-1 scoreline before holding his nerve in another decider, this time against China's Tian Pengfei.

Perry then dug deep to dispatch veteran Anthony Hamilton 6-3 in Saturday's Semi-Finals with three 70+ breaks along the way.

Robertson, meanwhile, is looking to become the latest first-time ranking event winner after breaking new ground in Belgium by reaching his first ranking final.

The 32-year-old had previously never been beyond the Quarter-Final stage of a ranking tournament since regaining his professional status in 2009, with his best run coming in February's German Masters.

The East Sussex star has seen off a clutch of big names en route to the final, including two-time ranking event winner Anthony McGill and reigning Masters champion Mark Allen.

His 6-4 victory over Mark King in the Semi-Finals included breaks of 99, 82 and 132 and he is now chasing down one further win would could change the course of his career.

Perry has won four of their six previous meetings and is unbeaten against Robertson since 2013. This will be their first encounter beyond the Last 32 stage of any event.

The best of 17 final gets underway from 12pm BST for a total of eight frames before being played to a conclusion from 6pm.
