Mark Selby made it back-to-back International Championship titles courtesy of a 10-7 victory over Mark Allen in Daqing on Sunday.

The world number one claimed his first ranking title since his World Championship triumph at The Crucible in May as he edged past Allen in a high quality final.

Allen had battled back from 8-3 down to trail 9-7, but 'The Jester' soon resumed normal service as he wrapped up the £150,000 top prize and his 13th career ranking title.

Having come through his held over qualifying match against Ashley Hugill, Selby's run to the final included consecutive 6-4 wins over Cao Yupeng, Tom Ford and Mark Williams.

He then powered past Robbie Williams 6-2 and Martin Gould 9-3 to set up a show-down with Allen - who was appearing in his first ranking final since March 2016.

Selby took the opening frame with a 67 break before Allen levelled in style with a superb break of 110.

Back-to-back breaks of 50 and 61 saw the Leicester ace move clear but only for Allen to hit back with a break of 98 in frame five.

Runs of 55 and 60 handed Selby the sixth, and after dominating frame seven, the three-time World Champion added a break of 61 to extend his lead to 6-2.

Antrim ace Allen then grabbed himself a much-needed lifeline before the interval as he blasted in a 137 clearance to remain in contention.

Selby, though, clinched frame ten to nil and followed up with a break of 62 to move further ahead at 8-3.

Allen's fightback began with successive contributions of 50 and 78 before Selby moved to within a frame of glory thanks to a fine break of 90.

A half century in frame 15 kept 'The Pistol's' hopes alive and he made further inroads on the deficit by comfortably securing the next frame.

Selby, though, quashed any hopes of a miracle comeback by sealing the deal in frame 17 to return to the winner's enclosure in China.
