Judd Trump picked up his third title of the season at the 2019 World Grand Prix in Cheltenham courtesy of a 10-6 win over Ali Carter in the final.

Trump, who also claimed November's Northern Ireland Open title and took glory in last month's Masters, continued his ruthless winning run by storming to the £100,000 top prize.

The 29-year-old opened up a 6-3 lead over Carter following the first session of Sunday's final and went on to win four of the next seven frames in the evening to seal victory.

"I could get used to this, it's a great feeling," said Trump.

"Ali made it so I hard for me and I had to dig deep and scrap for everything I got. I'm just proud of the way I held myself together."

It was Carter who established a 2-1 lead after a low-scoring opening three frames, before Trump fired in back-to-back breaks of 113 and 63 to hit the front.

The Bristol ace clinched a further two unanswered frames to extend his lead to 5-2 before Carter stopped the rot with a fine break of 88.

Trump, though, turned on the style with a majestic clearance of 132 in the final frame of the afternoon session to restore a three-frame cushion.

Carter came roaring back after the restart with a break of 99, and after Trump secured frame 11, 'The Captain' made an 83 in the twelfth to trail 7-5.

Carter then edged a close-run 13th frame by 69 points to 67 to apply further pressure, but Trump shrugged it off with consecutive breaks of 71 and 78.

He then charged over the line with a quick-fire break of 54 to wrap up his tenth ranking title, moving him level with fellow attacking left-hander Jimmy White.
