Michael White continued his resurgent run at the 2019 UK Championship with a 6-2 scalp of fellow Welshman Mark Williams in Round Two on Sunday, while Judd Trump, John Higgins and Ding Junhui all enjoyed commanding wins.

The Last 32 line-up was finalised at the York Barbican as a flurry of big names secured their progression, while two former UK champions bowed out.

Williams, the 1999 and 2002 champion, suffered a shock 6-2 defeat at the hands of former ranking event winner White - who boosted his hopes of retaining his Tour Card after tumbling down the rankings in recent months.

White, the world number 62, had not progressed beyond the First Round of a ranking tournament during the season so far, but recaptured his top form wih breaks of 65, 75, 52, 81 and 64.

Williams struggled for large parts of the match, though he did manage a break of 102, but could not threaten a fightback as White eased over the line.

"It was a great performance," White told Eurosport. "I've been through a tough time over the last 18 months off the table with a few issues but I've been putting a lot of practice in and feel in a better place and it showed tonight.

"I know he missed a few but I scored more of less every chance I got so I felt like I timed the ball lovely and my safety was good.

"The First Round was a bigger game to me with the amount on prize money on offer and with the amount of First Round defeats I've had, I went into tonight a bit more relaxed and I seemed to enjoy it."

Meanwhile, Gary Wilson produced a sensational turnaround from 4-0 down with a run of four consecutive centuries on the way to a 6-4 win over Chris Wakelin.

Wilson became the fourth player ever to make four consecutive centuries in the same match, alongside John Higgins, Shaun Murphy and Neil Robertson, as he followed up runs of 67 and 97 with magnificent breaks of 134, 114, 100 and 124.

World number one Trump remained in the running to complete a 2019 Triple Crown as he thrashed China's Mei Xiwen 6-1.

Trump, who whitewashed Amine Amiri in Round One, fired in breaks of 68, 86, 105, 51 and 93 in another dominant display, with Mei's only frame coming courtesy of a clearance of 127.

Two-time UK Champion Ding Junhui eased into the Third Round with a 6-2 victory over former Shoot-Out winner Michael Georgiou, completing the win with a break of 100.

Three-time champion John Higgins recovered from losing the opening frame to sweep aside Lu Ning 6-1 with a top break of 103, while top 16 star Jack Lisowski knocked out 2006 UK Champion Peter Ebdon 6-2 with breaks of 65, 86, 62 and 60 along the way.

Former World Champion Graeme Dott produced another dominant display to whitewash 19-year-old Yuan Sijun with top breaks of 82, 77 and 99.

Stephen Maguire, the 2004 UK Champion, safely dispatched Northern Ireland's Jordan Brown 6-2 with a high break of 108 to his opponent's 101 in a high quality contest.

Two-time world finalist Ali Carter safely navigated his way into the Last 32 in York after a 6-2 win over Robert Milkins with a high break of 139, as 2015 runner-up David Grace repeated his Semi-Final win over David Grace with a 6-3 triumph in their rematch.
