The Second Round action continues at the 2019 UK Championship on Sunday with six former champions aiming to safely progress to the Last 32 in York.

Four of the world's top 16 players have already been sent packing from the season's first Triple Crown tournament and a number of big names will be out to avoid suffering a similar fate.

World number one Judd Trump, the bookmakers' favourite to replicate his 2011 success here, steps up his latest quest for major silverware with a clash against Chinese cueist Mei Xiwen.

Trump, who has stormed to five ranking titles this season as well as The Masters, began with a routine 6-0 whitewash of Morocco's Amine Amiri but faces a much tougher test against a player no stranger to an upset this season.

Mei knocked out Ronnie O'Sullivan on the way to the Quarter-Finals of October's English Open and was a 6-4 winner over three-time UK finalist Ken Doherty in Round One last week.

Scottish stalwart John Higgins steps up his pursuit of a fourth UK Championship crown with a tie against world number 60 Lu Ning - who whitewashed Joe O'Connor 6-0 in the opening round.

Two-time UK champion Ding Junhui faces a tough assignment against former Shoot-Out champion Michael Georgiou in the afternoon session, as 2006 UK Champion Peter Ebdon starts out as underdog against world number 13 Jack Lisowski - aiming to surpass his best run to the Last 16 a year ago.

Mark Williams, UK Champion in 1999 and 2002, is gearing up for an all-Welsh affair with Michael White - who has tumbled to 62nd in the world rankings and is battling to preserve his Tour Card.

Graeme Dott, the 2006 World Champion, is also poised for a tough test when he takes on 19-year-old emerging star Yuan Sijun - one of China's most promising young prospects.

Ali Carter, twice a UK semi-finalist, returns to the table to take on Robert Milkins - who made his debut in this competition back in 1996.

A repeat of their 2015 Semi-Final in York sees David Grace bidding for revenge against Liang Wenbo - who prevailed 6-4 on that occasion before losing out in the final.

Stephen Maguire, the 2004 UK Champion, takes on Northern Ireland's Jordan Brown - who enjoyed a fine 6-2 win over Mark Joyce in Round One.

Yan Bingtao, China's number two, faces former World Championship qualifier Stuart Carrington, while former Masters finalist Joe Perry plays Thailand's unorthodox cueist Sunny Akani - who has reached the Last 16 in consecutive years here.

Crucible semi-finalist Gary Wilson meets two-time ranking quarter-finalist Chris Wakelin, while two-time UK semi-finalist Ricky Walden takes on world number 38 Martin O'Donnell.

The action gets underway from 1pm GMT, with Second Round matches to be contested over the best of 11 frames.
