Tom Ford produced a magnificent maximum en route to securing a place in the 2019 International Championship in Sheffield on Monday.

Ford, UK Championship semi-finalist last season, achieved the fourth 147 break of his career to wrap up a 6-1 rout of Scotland's Fraser Patrick.

The feat means the 35-year-old joins an elite group of only nine players to have made four or more maximums in professional competition.

Ford's is the first 147 of the 2019/20 season, in which a £1 million bonus will be triggered if 20 or more are made throughout the campaign, with the prize pool to be split among each player to have completed the sport's holy grail.

The world number 27 is also on course to scoop the £6,000 high break bonus at the International Championship, providing no other player matches the break in either the qualifiers or August's main event.

Ford followed up earlier breaks of 94, 56, 53 and 61 with a sensational maximum in frame seven to complete a thumping win over Patrick at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.

He joins the likes of Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Mark Williams and Stuart Bingham to have booked his place in the £800,000 world ranking event in Daqing, China.
