Shaun Murphy headlines the action on day three of the 2017 International Championship Qualifiers when he clashes with Australia’s Matthew Bolton on Thursday, while Barry Hawkins and Mark Allen are also on display at the Preston Guild Hall.

World number five Murphy is aiming to continue his strong recent form that has brought runs to the final of the China Championship and Paul Hunter Classic so far this season.

Therefore, the Magician shall be desperate to avoid an upset against Bolton, who is still seeking his first victory since turning professional at the start of the season.

There are three other members of the top 16 in action on Thursday including world number seven Hawkins, who takes on Hammad Miah, while 2014 finalist Allen and Ali Carter face off against Peter Lines and Jamie Curtis-Barrett respectively.

Elsewhere, Ricky Walden, who won this event three years ago, begins his latest quest to climb back towards the elite bracket against Billy Joe Castle, as former World champion Peter Ebdon locks horns with Fang Xiongman.

Jimmy Robertson will face off against Michael Georgiou and Mark Davis plays Ian Preece, while Fergal O’Brien goes head to head with Zhang Yong.

Nuneaton-based cueists Matthew Selt and Chris Wakelin face potential banana skins in Switzerland’s Alexander Ursebacher respectively, as Rory McLeod takes on Ross Muir.

The rest of the action sees Mark Joyce go toe to toe with Australia’s Kurt Dunham and Stuart Carrington play Lee Walker.

Day three action at the 2017 International Championship Qualifiers gets underway at 9.30am BST on Thursday, with all matches contested over the best of 11 frames at the Preston Guild Hall.
