World Snooker Championship 2019 Live Scores and Tournament Schedule of Play

The highlight of the snooker season sees the world’s top cueists descend on The Crucible for the World Championship, and you can follow all the latest results and fixtures here.

The annual snooker show-piece features the world's top 16 ranked players alongside a further 16 qualifiers as they battle it out for £2.2 million in prize money from April 20 to May 6.

A record £500,000 top prize is on offer this year as a host of decorated stars and exciting emerging talents lock horns at the sport's spiritual home.

Eight previous World Champions are included in the star-studded line-up, while seven players will make their Crucible debut - the most for 20 years.

Mark Williams is the defending champion after he defeated John Higgins 18-16 in last year's final to claim the crown the third time and end a 15-year wait.

Williams is bidding to become only the fifth player to successfully retain the title at The Crucible, but faces competition from a formidable field of challengers, headed by five-time World Champion and current world number one Ronnie O'Sullivan - who starts out as pre-tournament favourite.

Masters Champion Judd Trump, 2010 champion Neil Robertson and four-time Crucible king Higgins and UK Championship final Mark Allen are among the other front-runners.

Other seeded stars eyeing glory include the likes of 2016 runner-up Ding Junhui, 2005 winner Shaun Murphy, 2015 champion Stuart Bingham, Barry Hawkins and Kyren Wilson.

The seven debutants: Tian Pengfei, Luo Honghao, Scott Donaldson, Zhao Xintong, Michael Georgiou, Li Hang and James Cahill will be keen to make their mark on the sport's greatest stage.
