The 2024/25 WST season gets under way in June, and there will be plenty for snooker fans to look forward to on the calendar once again.
Just 35 days after Kyren Wilson defeated Jak Jones to clinch a maiden World Championship title at The Crucible, 10 months of non-stop drama and excitement will commence at Leicester’s Morningside Arena for the Championship League.
Up to 133 players – including the top 68 from the two-year ranking list at the end of last season and around 30 new professionals – will compete across 16 ranking tournaments and several invitational events (subject to change), with over £10m in prize money up for grabs.
As always, all eyes will be on snooker’s big three events will all venues and formats set to remain unchanged from last year.
First up, Ronnie O’Sullivan will defend his UK Championship title at the York Barbican between November 23 and December 1, and ‘The Rocket’ is also the reigning champion at the Masters – which takes place at London’s Alexandra Palace from January 12-19.
The season will then reach an unmissable climax at The Crucible in Sheffield – where the World Championship takes centre stage from April 19 to May 5.
Snooker’s second-most prestigious series is now into its seventh year, comprising of the World Grand Prix, Players Championship and Tour Championship.
The top 32 players on the one-year list will contest the World Grand Prix at a venue to be confirmed, before the top 16 players on the one-year list will then compete in the Players Championship at the Telford International Centre from March 17-23.
The top eight will then do battle at the Tour Championship, which returns to Manchester Central from March 31 to April 6.
The English Open will kick off this year’s Home Nations series at the Brentwood Centre in September, before Belfast’s Waterfront Hall hosts the Northern Ireland Open in October.
The Scottish Open takes place at Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Sports Centre from December 9-15, while the series concludes at Venue Cymru in Llandudno with the Welsh Open between February 10-16.
The increased schedule in China continues with four lucrative ranking tournaments, as well as the season-opening Shanghai Masters invitational.
A new addition to the calendar sees the Xi’an Grand Prix take place in August, featuring a total prize fund of £850,000, while the Wuhan Open, International Championship and World Open also return later in the season.
The Shoot Out heads to Leicester in December, while the German Masters takes place at the Tempodrom from January 27 to February 2.
A number of dates are still be confirmed, including the World Championship qualifiers and Championship League invitational.
