Judd Trump and Mark Allen collide in the final of the 2023 Champion of Champions in Bolton on Sunday.
Two of the most exciting attacking cueists in the sport go head-to-head at the University of Bolton Stadium for the right to claim the £150,000 title.
The duo have contested a number of epic encounters in recent years, and this promises to be yet another with both in fine fettle coming into the match.
Trump has been far and away the season’s stand-out performer so far and is looking to capture a fantastic fourth title in the space of six weeks.
The world number two claimed consecutive crowns at the English Open, Wuhan Open and Northern Ireland Open last month and has continued his love affair with this prestigious invitational.
Trump is appearing in the final of this event for the fourth time in his last five appearances and is looking to replicate his memorable triumph two years ago.
He began his run to the final with a 4-0 whitewash of Women’s World Champion Baipat Siripaporn, before seeing off Shaun Murphy 6-3 in the group final and overcoming Barry Hawkins 6-3 to avenge his defeat in August’s European Masters final.
Allen, meanwhile, has stormed into the final of the Champion of Champions for the third time and is also bidding to double his tally, having reigned behind closed doors in 2020.
The world number four had endured a low-key start to the season by his high standards but has burst into life in Bolton with four century breaks along the way.
Allen began by defeating World Seniors champion Jimmy White 4-1, before dispatching Ali Carter 6-2 in the group final.
The Antrim ace then replicated that dominant score-line against John Higgins in the Semi-Finals on Saturday to reach his second televised final of 2023.
The first saw him edge out Trump 10-9 to claim the World Grand Prix title back in January, avenging his 6-1 defeat in this competition 12 months ago.
The pair have met 24 times in total, with Allen holding the narrow upper-hand with 13 wins to Trump’s 11 since 2008.
The match gets under way from 1pm GMT for a total of eight frames, before resuming to a finish from 7pm over the best of 19.
