Judd Trump does battle with Mark Selby on Sunday for the right to be crowned the 2025 Champion of Champions in Leicester.
A wonderful week at the Mattioli Arena is set for a dramatic climax, with the world number one and home favourite going head to head for the title.
Trump, who lifted the trophy in 2021, is appearing in his sixth Champion of Champions final, and aiming to becoming the fourth multiple winner after Ronnie O’Sullivan, Neil Robertson and Mark Allen.
The Ace is hoping to finally land his first silverware of 2025, having last tasted success at the UK Championship 11 months ago.
Trump is yet to hit a century in Leicester this week, but has produced 11 breaks of over 50 and dropped just five frames along the way.
The world number one overcame Women’s World champion Bai Yulu and Scottish Open winner Lei Peifan to reach the semi-finals, where he reeled off six frames on the spin from 2-0 down against reigning Crucible king Zhao Xintong.
Trump also prevailed the previous time he and Selby contested a final (excluding the Championship League), capturing his first ranking title as he won 10-8 in the 2011 China Open showpiece.
The two players are the only ever-presents at the Champion of Champions since the event returned to the calendar in 2013.
Yet, it is a title that has, so far, eluded Selby, who will be desperate to delight his home crowd in his maiden final.
The Jester is looking to become the eighth different winner of the popular invitational event, and is fresh from an impressive 6-2 victory over Neil Robertson in the semi-finals.
That came after he prevailed as the Group One winner, having whitewashed Stephen Maguire 4-0 before dethroning reigning champion Mark Williams with a dramatic 6-5 victory later on.
A fitting finale to the week will be contested over the best of 19 frames. Another multiple winner will be crowned, or a new name will be added to the roll of honour.
The match breaks off at 1pm GMT with the opening nine frames, before playing to a finish from 7pm at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.
