Alfie Burden v Aaron Canavan live stream | World Seniors Championship Final preview
Alfie Burden goes head to head with Aaron Canavan for the right to be crowned the winner of the 2025 World Seniors Snooker Championship.
Just two players remain at The Crucible Theatre, where they will do battle over the best of 15 frames for the title and top prize of £15,000.
Either the tournament’s second multiple winner will be crowned on Sunday, or a former finalist will go the extra step to add their name to the roll of honour.
Burden was runner-up to Jimmy White in 2023 – making just a single break over 50 – and will be hoping to give a much better account of himself two years on.
The Londoner avenged that defeat by White with a 4-1 victory in the opening round, before producing an inspired fightback to overturn a 3-0 deficit and stun Tony Drago on the final pink.
Burden – the last player to qualify for this event via the Golden Ticket Play-Off – then enjoyed a relatively comfortable 6-2 win over Asia-Pacific Seniors champion Hassan Kerde to book his place in a second World Seniors final.
Standing in the way of the title is a man who knows what it takes to lift the trophy, having done so back in 2018.
Canavan is now looking to join four-time champion White as the only multiple winners of this tournament.
The World Seniors number one – back at The Crucible for the first time since 2020 – marked his return with a 4-1 victory over Andrew Norman, before battling past debutant Wayne Townsend 4-2.
Canavan appeared down and out at 5-2 adrift against Dominic Dale in the semi-finals. However, the Jersey cueist produced a superb turnaround to edge out the Spaceman – and tournament favourite – on the final blue.
It is set to be a fascinating encounter with the trophy, £15,000 top prize and a potential place in next season’s Champion of Champions at stake.
The match breaks off at 12pm BST on Sunday and will be contested over the best of 15 frames at The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
