Ronnie O’Sullivan v Sanderson Lam live stream | International Championship 2025 preview

Ronnie O’Sullivan begins his quest for International Championship glory with a first round tie against Sanderson Lam in Nanjing on Monday.

The International Championship is one of the only ranking titles missing from O’Sullivan’s CV, and the 49-year-old will be determined to mount a serious challenge this week.

O’Sullivan is making his third consecutive appearance in the lucrative event, having reached the semi-finals in Tianjin two years ago.

The Rocket is competing in a ranking tournament for only the third time this season, having finished runner-up in the Saudi Arabia Masters in August before reaching the quarter-finals of the Xi’an Grand Prix last month.

Seeded number six, O’Sullivan is situated in the bottom half of the draw alongside the likes of Judd Trump and Mark Selby, though Mark Williams has withdrawn from the event.

Lam is looking to end a decade-long wait for a win in this tournament and is facing the seven-time World Champion for just the second time in professional competition.

Their only previous meeting came at the 2019 Welsh Open – where O’Sullivan prevailed 4-2 in the opening round.

Lam is ranked world number 63 and saw his best run in ranking competition come at the 2023 Scottish Open – where he reached the quarter-finals.

The match gets under way from 11.30am GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 frames.

Either newly-crowned Northern Ireland Open champion Jack Lisowski or Louis Heathcote will await the winner in the Last 32.
