Judd Trump v Jack Lisowski live stream | Northern Ireland Open Final preview
Judd Trump does battle with good friend Jack Lisowski on Sunday for the right to be crowned the 2025 Northern Ireland Open champion.
Two of the game’s most exciting players go head to head over the best of 17 frames at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, where the Alex Higgins trophy and a top prize of £100,000 are up for grabs.
This will be the fourth ranking final the pair have contested. Trump has prevailed in each of the previous three at the 2020 World Grand Prix, as well as the following year’s German Masters and Gibraltar Open – all of which were played at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.
That represents half of the six defeats Lisowski has suffered in ranking finals, as he finally looks to get over the line at the seventh attempt here.
It will not be easy, though, against Trump, who is eyeing a record-extending seventh Home Nations title – and fifth in the Northern Ireland Open.
The Ace lifted the Alex Higgins trophy in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023, and began his quest to do so again with a pair of 4-2 victories over Anthony McGill and Jackson Page, before he beat Gary Wilson 4-1.
Trump then reeled off the final three frames to overcome John Higgins 5-2 in the last eight, while he won the last four to see off home favourite Mark Allen 6-3 in the semi-finals.
The world number one will be a strong favourite to prevail in what is his 50th ranking final, and 11th in the series.
Nevertheless, Lisowski is certain not to roll over in his mission to finally get over the line in a ranking showpiece.
The 34-year-old recently started working with highly respected coach Chris Henry, and appears to already be reaping the rewards after reaching his first final in four years.
After whitewashing Haris Tahir in just 47 minutes, Lisowski put four-time Crucible king Mark Selby and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh to the sword with a pair of 4-2 wins.
Another former World champion was beaten in the quarter-finals in reigning Northern Ireland Open champion Kyren Wilson, before three centuries helped Lisowski seal a resounding 6-1 rout of English Open runner-up Zhou Yuelong in the semi-finals.
Great friends off the table, that will be put firmly to one side as they lock horns over the best of 17 frames for glory in Belfast.
The match breaks off at 1pm GMT on Sunday with the opening eight frames, before playing to a conclusion from 7pm at the Waterfront Hall.
