Kyren Wilson v Mark Williams live stream | Players Championship 2025 Preview
Kyren Wilson goes head to head with Mark Williams in the first of this year’s Players Championship quarter-finals on Wednesday.
There are seven World champions in a stellar last-eight line-up at the Telford International Centre, where two of them face off for the third time this season.
Interestingly, in four of their last five meetings in ranking events, the winner of their match has gone on to win the respective tournament.
That was the case at the Northern Ireland Open last October when Wilson was a 5-1 victor in the quarter-finals, while Williams prevailed 6-5 at the same stage on his way to Champion of Champions glory.
Wilson is aiming to reach his third Players Championship semi-final, and begin his quest with breaks of 87, 74, 72, 66, 61 and 53 in a 6-3 win over defending champion Mark Allen.
The reigning World champion now looks to remain on course for his fourth silverware of the season, in which he has also triumphed at the inaugural Xi’an Grand Prix and German Masters.
Standing in his way is Williams, fresh from only his second win in five Players Championship matches courtesy of a 6-2 victory over Ding Junhui.
It was a welcome reprieve for the Welshman, who averted a fifth first-round defeat in six events.
Although, his recent form has been greatly affected by problems with his eyesight, and he will hope to deal with it in the best way possible, with a place in the last four of this event at stake.
Another former World champion – Mark Selby or Neil Robertson – awaits the winner of this match in the Players Championship semi-finals.
The match breaks off at 7pm GMT on Wednesday and will be contested over the best of 11 frames at the Telford International Centre.
