Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters 2025 | Day Six Preview and Order of Play
Mark Selby and Neil Robertson do battle in the pick of the sixth-round ties at the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters on Wednesday.
Just 16 players remain in the lucrative event – including eight World champions, a further four ranking event winners, and two rising Chinese stars.
The standout tie of the round pits two Triple Crown winners against each other in world number seven Selby and world number eight Robertson.
The latter, who made three centuries in his fifth-round win over Ben Woollaston, has prevailed in nine of the last 11 meetings between the players.
Although, Selby condemned his opponent to a resounding 10-1 rout when they most recently locked horns at last season’s Tour Championship.
Another tasty clash between two former Crucible kings sees 2024 Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters finalist Mark Williams go head to head with Shaun Murphy.
The Magician, who defeated maximum man Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in round five, has been victorious in each of the last five showdowns between the players.
Elsewhere, Ronnie O’Sullivan looks to build on his impressive 5-0 whitewash of Joe O’Connor, during which he hit breaks of 116, 90 and 89.
The Rocket takes on the last remaining player from round one in Chang Bingyu, who is set to make his first career appearance in the last 16 of a ranking event after stunning Mark Allen on Tuesday.
Zhao Xintong was also in fine form in round five, hitting breaks of 132, 106, 97, 94 and 92 in a 5-0 rout of Steven Hallworth.
Next up for the World champion is a clash with Chris Wakelin, who he beat 13-5 in the quarter-finals on his way to Crucible glory at the end of last season.
Former Crucible king Kyren Wilson was given a scare in his opening match by Iulian Boiko, recovering from 4-2 down to edge out the Ukrainian teenager 5-4 and maintain his perfect start to the season.
The Shanghai Masters champion now looks to make it six wins from six this term against Si Jiahui, who was a semi-finalist in this event last season.
Oliver Lines dethroned reigning champion Judd Trump on Tuesday. Already guaranteed the biggest payday of his career, the Leeds left-hander looks to build on that scalp against Shanghai runner-up Ali Carter.
Meanwhile, Ding Junhui locks horns with Barry Hawkins, and Elliot Slessor’s reward for defeating John Higgins is a clash with Stuart Bingham.
Play gets under way at 11am BST on Wednesday with all matches contested over the best of 11 frames at the Green Halls in Jeddah.
