Decorated duo John Higgins and Mark Selby face off for the right to claim the 2025 Tour Championship title in Manchester on Sunday.

Two of the most successful players of the modern era collide at Manchester Central in a quest for the £150,000 top prize and the season’s penultimate ranking silverware.

The pair have contest a number of classic matches in a competitive rivalry spanning 20 years, and this latest encounter promises to be no different.

Higgins is appearing in his second Tour Championship final and is vying to go one better than his runner-up spot to Neil Robertson in 2022.

The 49-year-old has enjoyed a superb season of resurgence after briefly dropping out of the world’s top 16, finishing runner-up at the British Open and going on to clinch his 32nd ranking title at the World Open in Yushan last month.

The Scot began his route to the final this week with a commanding 10-3 victory over Xiao Guodong, before overcoming Barry Hawkins 10-7 in a high quality contest with a top break of 144.

Selby, making his sixth appearance in the Tour Championship, is through to his first final and is challenging for his third ranking title of the season.

The four-time World Champion has claimed the British Open and Welsh Open titles this season, notably defeating Higgins in the final of the former.

He his Tour Championship campaign off and running with a 10-6 victory over Si Jiahui with high breaks of 136 and 128 and has remarkably dropped only three frames since, thrashing an out of sorts Neil Robertson 10-1 before completing a 10-1 demolition of Ding Junhui in Saturday’s semi-final.

Selby has won 16 of his 24 previous meetings with Higgins stretching back to 2005, including the 2017 World Championship final, with Higgins having notably triumphed in their initial Crucible final back in 2007.

Their latest showdown gets under way from 1pm BST for a total of eight frames, before being played to a finish over the best of 19 frames from 7pm.
