O’Sullivan won the title last season, but will not compete this year

The World Snooker Tour remains in Asia for the 2025 World Grand Prix, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.

The top 32 players on the one-year ranking list – covering all ranking tournaments over the past 12 months, up to and including the World Open – descend on the Kai Tak Arena in Kowloon City, Hong Kong between March 4-9, with a top prize of £180,000 on offer to the winner.

It will be the 11th staging of the elite event – and first ranking tournament held in Hong Kong since 1989 – and the first part of this season’s Players Series, which also includes the Players Championship and Tour Championship.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is the reigning champion after beating Judd Trump 10-7 in last year’s final, though the Rocket will not defend his title after withdrawing from the tournament on medical grounds.

Nevertheless, three-time champion Trump – who lifted the trophy in 2015, 2019 and 2020 – is one of five former winners in this year’s draw, along with Mark Allen, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and Barry Hawkins.

World champion Kyren Wilson, Mark Selby, Mark Williams and John Higgins will be looking to add their names to the roll of honour, while Ding Junhui, Ali Carter and Jack Lisowski are among the competing players who have previously reached the final.

Matches in the first and second rounds are to be contested over the best of seven frames, with the quarter-finals the best of nine, semi-finals the best of 11, and the final is the best of 19.
