Neil Robertson v John Higgins live stream | World Snooker Championship 2026 preview
Neil Robertson goes head-to-head with John Higgins in a blockbuster quarter-final showdown at the 2026 World Snooker Championship.
The standout tie of the last eight sees two of the game’s all-time greats do battle over the best of 25 frames for a place in the Crucible semi-finals.
It is seven years since their sole previous meeting in Sheffield, which also come at this stage of the tournament, with Higgins prevailing a 13-10 winner.
The Scotsman was also a commanding 6-1 victor in the most recent showdown at this season’s Players Championship, on his way to reaching a third final of the campaign.
Four-time champion Higgins has had to come from behind in both his matches so far this fortnight to progress to a 20th World quarter-final.
First, he overturned a 5-4 deficit against Ali Carter, who he initially led 4-0, to prevail 10-7. He then looked down and out at 9-4 behind in his epic second-round clash with Ronnie O’Sullivan.
However, the Wizard produced a trademark fightback, winning nine of the last 12 frames and hitting three centuries during the final session to come through the thrilling encounter 13-12.
The 50-year-old will now target a 12th appearance in the World Championship semi-finals, against a player who has only been to the one-table setup on three previous occasions.
Robertson, who lifted the trophy in 2010, does boast a modest Crucible record given his pedigree, yet he has the chance to redress the balance this year.
The Thunder is gearing up for his 10th appearance in the last eight in Sheffield, and first in five years.
Robertson recorded his first Crucible match win since 2023 with a 10-6 success over Pang Junxu in round one. He then avenged his opening-round defeat by Chris Wakelin 12 months earlier with a 13-7 triumph this time around.
It is set to be a mouth-watering battle over the best of 25 frames between one of greatest players of all time and snooker’s most successful overseas player, with Zhao Xintong or Shaun Murphy awaiting the winner in the semi-finals.
The match breaks off at 2.30pm BST on Tuesday with the opening eight frames, continuing with another eight at 10am on Wednesday, before playing to a finish at 7pm later that day.
