Dominic Dale v Jimmy White live stream | UK Championship Qualifiers preview

Former UK Champion Jimmy White takes on fellow veteran Dominic Dale in the final qualifying round of the 2022 UK Championship in Sheffield on Wednesday.

The decorated duo will battle it out at Ponds Forge for a place in the season’s first Triple Crown event – which takes place from November 12-20 in York.

Both have rolled back the years to move within touching distance of the Last 32 and are inseparable in terms of their head-to-head record, having won five games apiece dating back to 1994.

White continues to compete with the sport’s elite at the age of 60 and heads into the contest on the back of his best spell of results for some time.

The Whirlwind began his qualifying campaign with back-to-back 6-0 whitewash wins over Victor Sarkis and Mitchell Mann, before pulling off a huge scalp against 2004 UK Champion Stephen Maguire to seal a 6-4 victory on Monday.

The world number 89 has not featured in the Last 32 of this event since 2010 – when he was narrowly beaten 9-8 by his nemesis Stephen Hendry.

Dale, meanwhile, has won two matches to reach the final qualifying round, defeating both James Cahill and Li Hang 6-4.

The charismatic Welshman, who made his UK Championship debut back in 1996, is now aiming to tear up the script and deny the People’s Champion a sensational feat.

Dale reached the Last 32 of this season’s European Masters, defeating White 5-3 along the way, but has been on the receiving end in some of their most high-profile encounters over the years, including the 2002 World Championship – where White stormed to a 10-2 victory.

Their latest show-down gets under way from 1pm GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 frames.
