Ronnie O’Sullivan was on-hand to pick up his OBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on Friday.
The five-time World Champion attended the ceremony alongside partner Laila Rouass, having been named on the New Year Honours list last December.
The 40-year-old has won no fewer than 28 ranking titles during an illustrious career and is widely regarded as the greatest natural talent ever to grace the green baize.
Renowned for his prolific break-building, ‘The Rocket’ holds the record for the most competitive century breaks with 824 and the most maximum breaks in professional competition (13) – the quickest in five minutes, 20 seconds.
O’Sullivan was also named as Fan’s Player of the Year at Thursday’s World Snooker Annual Awards Dinner at the Dorchester Hotel.
Other snooker players previously recognised on the honours list include seven-time World Champion Stephen Hendry MBE (1994), Mark Williams MBE (2004), Jimmy White MBE (1999) and Steve Davis MBE (1988).
