Shaun Murphy and Kyren Wilson face off for the right to be crowned 2025 Masters champion at Alexandra Palace on Sunday.

A mouth-watering climax to the 50th anniversary of the sport’s most prestigious invitational sees former champion Murphy and former runner-up Wilson collide for the £350,000 top prize.

Murphy is appearing in his third Masters final, having initially lost out to Neil Robertson in 2012, before gaining revenge on the Australian three years later to complete the career Triple Crown.

World Champion in 2005 and UK Champion in 2008, Murphy is now eyeing a fourth Triple Crown title to cap off an unforgettable week in the capital which saw him firstly squander a glorious opportunity for a maximum break in the quarter-finals, before going on to complete the feat in the semis.

The Magician opened up with a 6-3 win over Gary Wilson in Round One, before comfortably dispatching Robertson 6-2.

He then produced the sixth 147 break in the history of the tournament and the ninth of his professional career in a superb 6-3 win over rival Mark Allen on Saturday.

Wilson, meanwhile, is through to his second Masters final and has his sights set on redemption after his heartbreak here in 2018.

Wilson was reduced to tears following his 10-7 defeat to Allen in the 2018 final but has gone on to claim a host of major titles, including the World Championship in 2024, as well as the Xi’an Grand Prix and Northern Ireland Open later in the year.

The Kettering cueist is bidding to become the 26th different name on the iconic Paul Hunter Trophy and avenge his defeat to Murphy in the 2023 Tour Championship final.

Wilson overcame Zhang Anda 6-4 in Round One before repeating that scoreline against Luca Brecel in the quarter-finals.

He then reeled off three frames in a row from 3-2 down to deny rival and world number one Judd Trump on Saturday night.

Murphy has the upper-hand when it comes to the head-to-heads, with eight wins from his 12 previous meetings with Wilson, including the 2020 Welsh Open final, 2021 World Championship semi-final and 2023 Tour Championship final.

The 2025 Masters final gets under way from 1pm GMT for a maximum of eight frames, before resuming to a conclusion from 7pm over the best of 19.
