Judd Trump locks horns with Mark Allen on Thursday in a blockbuster battle of the left-handers in the Masters quarter-finals.
Two former champions go head to head at Alexandra Palace, for the right to play John Higgins in the semi-finals.
This will be their third meeting at the Masters. Allen won 6-4 in the wildcard round 17 years – and what was both players’ first ever matches in the event – while Trump prevailed in a decider in the 2022 first round.
The Ace also came out on top in their most recent encounter in this season’s Northern Ireland Open semi-finals, subsequently ending a three-match losing streak against the Pistol.
Trump is appearing in his 10th Masters quarter-final after arguably the best performance of the opening round, having hit breaks of 117, 116, 109, 88 and 69 during a 6-2 victory over Ding Junhui.
It was a purposeful start from the world number one, who is aiming to end his silverware drought after failing to lift a trophy in 2025.
The 2019 and 2023 Masters champion now targets an eighth semi-final that will keep him on track to lift the Paul Hunter trophy for a third time.
Allen, meanwhile, is aiming to reach the semi-finals for a third year on the bounce, and sixth time overall.
The Pistol has already beaten another two-time champion in Mark Williams – during which he had runs of 125, 70, 67, 60 and 54 – to progress to his 11th quarter-final at the Masters, where he is an ever-present since debuting in 2009.
Champion in 2018, he is now just three more wins away from becoming the 13th multiple victor of this illustrious event.
Two-time victor Higgins awaits the winner of what promises to be a mouth-watering last-eight clash in the semi-finals this weekend.
The match breaks off at 7pm GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 frames at Alexandra Palace.
