Jimmy White v Alfie Burden live stream | World Seniors Championship final preview
London duo Jimmy White and Alfie Burden go head-to-head in the final of the 2023 World Seniors Championship at The Crucible on Sunday.
The pair have stormed into the final in Sheffield this week for the loss of just two frames apiece and will face off in what promises to be a free-flowing battle.
White is appearing in his sixth World Seniors Championship final since 2010 and is vying for a fourth crown.
The Whirlwind, who has enjoyed a superb season on the main tour, dug deep to defeat Golden Ticket qualifier Philip Williams 3-1 in his opener, but turned on the style to whitewash Australia’s Adrian Ridley 4-0 with breaks of 76, 103, 80 and 84.
White then swept aside Malta legend Tony Drago 4-1 in the Semi-Finals on Saturday afternoon with breaks of 64 and 74 in the process.
The 61-year-old, six times a world finalist, is looking to avert a third consecutive defeat in the World Seniors final, having lost out to David Lilley in 2021 and Lee Walker in 2022.
Burden, meanwhile, has enjoyed a superb return to The Crucible 25 years after making his sole appearance in the World Championship.
The four-time ranking event quarter-finalist, who won a qualifying event in February to secure his spot in this competition, swept aside 1997 World Champion Ken Doherty 3-0 in Round One.
He then knocked out seven-time World Champion Stephen Hendry 4-1 in the Quarter-Finals, before repeating that scoreline against Ben Hancorn, sealing victory with a century break.
Burden and White have met on four previous occasions since 2006, with the ‘People’s Champion’ prevailing in three, including the Last 32 of the 2014 China Open.
The final gets under way from 7pm BST and will be contested over the best of nine frames, with the winner securing a place in November’s Champion of Champions.
