European Masters
The European Masters became one of the latest reintroductions to the ever-growing Snooker calendar earlier this season.
Established as the European Open in 1989, the tournament was renamed the Irish Open and Malta Cup before returning with its new title following an eight-year absence in 2016.
Back in October, the tournament took place in Romania – a real hotbed for Snooker as it continues to grow in mainland Europe – with 32 players progressing through two qualifying rounds before competing for a total of 350,000Euros.
It was a Final to remember as Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump played out a 17-frame extravaganza, with Trump recovering from 8-6 down to prevail a 9-8 winner in Bucharest.
Stephen Hendry is the tournament’s most successful player having lifted the trophy four times, while John Parrott is a three-time winner of the event.
