Kyren Wilson v Barry Hawkins live stream | German Masters 2025 Final preview
Kyren Wilson goes head to head with Barry Hawkins on Sunday for the right to be crowned the 2025 German Masters champion in Berlin.
The reigning World champion locks horns with the four-time Triple Crown finalist in a mouth-watering showpiece at the Tempodrom, with a top prize of £100,000 up for grabs.
It will be the third final contested between the players on German soil. Hawkins won 4-3 at the invitational Paul Hunter Classic in 2019, though Wilson was a dominant 9-3 victor in the 2022 European Masters showpiece.
The head-to-head could not be closer. The 32 previous meetings have brought 16 victories apiece, with Hawkins edging the frames won by 107 to 104.
Their two clashes this season have also been shared; the Hawk winning 4-2 in the English Open, and the Warrior prevailing 6-2 at the same stage of the International Championship.
Wilson is targeting his ninth ranking title – and second German Masters crown, having triumphed in 2019.
The World champion recorded a trio of 5-3 victories over Ka Wai Cheung, Zhou Yuelong and Jak Jones – the latter in a repeat of their Crucible showpiece last May.
He then overturned a 3-1 deficit to edge out Anthony McGill in the last eight, while breaks of 100 and 88 helped him to a commanding 6-2 semi-final win over Xiao Guodong.
And the Warrior will have increased determination to lift the Brandon Parker trophy, named after his late former manager.
Meanwhile, Hawkins made it third time lucky in a German Masters semi-final, reeling off six straight frames from 2-0 down to see off Yuan Sijun to reach his maiden showpiece in Berlin.
Runner-up to Judd Trump at the UK Championship two months ago, the Hawk will be looking to go the extra step and land his fifth ranking title – 18 months after his most recent triumph at the 2023 European Masters – also on German soil.
Hawkins began the week by beating Alfie Burden 5-4 and Ben Woollaston 5-3, before receiving a bye into the quarter-finals following Ricky Walden’s withdrawal on medical grounds.
The world number 12 was then in fine form against Wu Yize – the runner-up at this season’s English and Scottish Open – hitting breaks of 138, 89, 73 and 60 on the way to a 5-3 victory, before seeing off another Chinese opponent in the last four in Yuan.
Hawkins looks to become the 11th different German Masters champion since the event returned to the calendar in 2011, while Wilson would be the fourth multiple winner in that span should he prevail.
The match breaks off at 1pm GMT on Sunday and will be contested over the best of 19 frames at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
