Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters 2025 | Day Five Preview and Order of Play
Kyren Wilson looks to continue his strong start to the season as he enters the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters in the fifth round on Tuesday.
The world’s top 16 enter the fray in Jeddah, with the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, John Higgins and World champion Zhao Xintong also launching their quests to land that bumper top prize of £500,000.
Wilson is fresh from kick-starting his season with glory at the Shanghai Masters earlier this month, beating Ali Carter 11-9 in a high-quality final.
The world number two’s mission to add further silverware during this early stage of the season starts against Ukrainian teenager Iulian Boiko, who has already come through four rounds to face the former Crucible king.
Reigning Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters champion Trump begins his defence of the inaugural title he won in dramatic fashion last year, producing an incredible 72 clearance from 62-0 down to snatch a 10-9 victory over Mark Williams on the final black.
The world number one takes on good friend Oliver Lines, while seven-time World champion O’Sullivan opens against Championship League finalist Joe O’Connor.
Four-time Crucible king Higgins goes up against Elliot Slessor, who recovered from 4-1 down to edge out Lan Yuhao, as reigning World champion Zhao locks horns with Steven Hallworth – the latter fresh from four victories already in Jeddah.
Mark Selby aims to avert a repeat result against Long Zehuang, who enjoyed a shock 5-4 victory when the pair faced off in the opening round of last season’s Wuhan Open, while Shaun Murphy faces a tough test in maximum man Thepchaiya Un-Nooh.
Williams’ quest to go one better from last year starts against Yuan Sijun, who has dropped just one frame in his two matches so far this week, as Neil Robertson and Mark Allen face Ben Woollaston and Chang Bingyu respectively.
Ding Junhui and Stephen Maguire go head to head in a tasty clash, with another pitting world number 17 Carter against world number 19 Gary Wilson.
Si Jiahui and Wu Yize also collide in a battle of the young Chinese stars, as Barry Hawkins plays Martin O’Donnell in a clash of the left-handers.
Zhang Anda faces former World champion Stuart Bingham with the day’s other encounter seeing Chris Wakelin take on Farakh Ajaib, who has already recorded four victories in this event – including defeats of Tom Ford and Jamie Jones.
Play gets under way at 11am BST on Tuesday with all matches contested over the best of nine frames at the Green Halls in Jeddah.
