Brown takes on Un-Nooh in Cannock (Action Plus Sports/Alamy Live News)

Jordan Brown and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh go head to head in the Scottish Open qualifiers at Chase Leisure Centre on Wednesday.

Two former ranking event winners collide in an eye-catching showdown in Cannock for a place in the main stages of the tournament next month.

World number 22 Brown is aiming to improve his record at the Scottish Open, having never previously progressed beyond the last 64 of the Home Nations event.

Although, the former Welsh Open champion is fresh from a run to the last 16 of the British Open, in which he defeated 2021 Masters winner Yan Bingtao along the way.

The Antrim Ferrari is now looking to avenge the 5-1 defeat he suffered against Un-Nooh in the last 32 of the Turkish Masters in March.

The world number 53 is aiming to kickstart his season after losing 4-2 to Matthew Stevens in the last 64 of the British Open a fortnight ago.

And he is hoping for better fortunes at the Scottish Open this time round, having lost 4-2 to Sam Craigie in the qualifying round last term.

But Un-Nooh did reach the quarter-finals of this event three years ago. The former Shoot Out champion overcame Liang Wenbo, Robert Milkins and Marco Fu before a resounding 4-0 whitewash of Neil Robertson, but eventually succumbed 5-3 to runner-up Jack Lisowski.

The winner of this match will play Chang Bingyu in the main stages of the Scottish Open at Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh next month.

Play gets underway at 1pm BST on Wednesday with the match contested over the best of seven frames at Chase Leisure Centre in Cannock on Wednesday.
