Shaun Murphy is the reigning champion, but will not defend the trophy this year

The 2024 Tour Championship is next on the WST calendar, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.

The penultimate event of the 2023-24 season will be played at Manchester Central, which is fresh from staging the World Mixed Doubles last weekend, from April 1-7.

For the first time, the top 12 players on the one-year list – as opposed to eight in previous years – have qualified for the final event of this year’s Players Series, and will do battle for a top prize of £150,000.

Shaun Murphy is the reigning champion after beating Kyren Wilson 10-7 in the 2023 final, though both players have failed to qualify for this year’s edition.

Ronnie O’Sullivan, who won the inaugural event in 2019, is the only former champion in the draw, while Mark Allen and John Higgins were runners-up in 2020 and 2022 respectively.

Allen and Judd Trump, who is the top seed, could both complete the Players Series set if they go all the way this week, though they face stiff competition from the likes of Mark Selby, Mark Williams and Ding Junhui.

European Masters champion Barry Hawkins and Masters runner-up Ali Carter are also in contention, while there are first appearances in the tournament for International Championship winner Zhang Anda and Gary Wilson – winner of the Scottish Open and Welsh Open – as well as Tom Ford.

Serving as ideal preparation for the forthcoming World Championship, all matches up to an including the final will be contested over the best of 19 frames and split across two sessions.
