Judd Trump and Barry Hawkins do battle for the fourth time this season as they face off in the quarter-finals of the Tour Championship on Wednesday.
A repeat of the UK Championship final sees Trump bidding to continue his recent dominance over his fellow left-hander as he seeks a seventh straight win.
Trump secured his second UK Championship title courtesy of a 10-8 success in York in December, before thrashing Hawkins 6-1 in the opening round of The Masters a month later.
Trump, whose triumph in York saw him reach 30 ranking titles, is vying to add this trophy to his collection for the first time and go one better than at the Players Championship a fortnight ago.
The world number one was agonisingly beaten 10-9 by rival Kyren Wilson in Telford, having also finished runner-up to ‘The Warrior’ in this season’s Northern Ireland Open.
Trump is making his sixth appearance in this event and is yet to surpass the semi-final stage, having bowed out in the quarter-finals in each of his last three attempts.
While Trump was seeded through to this stage, Hawkins hit the ground running with a remarkable 10-1 rout of Masters champion Shaun Murphy in Round One.
Hawkins racked up a fantastic five centuries in his demolition of Murphy and will be keen to pick up from where he left off as he bids to stop the rot against Trump.
Twice a ranking event finalist this season, ‘The Hawk’ is looking to reach the semis of this event for the second time in three appearances.
The match gets under way from 1pm BST for a maximum of eight frames, before resuming to a finish over the best of 19 frames from 7pm.
Either four-time World Champion John Higgins or Wuhan Open champion Xiao Guodong will await the winner in the semi-finals.
