Kyren Wilson v Ding Junhui live stream | Tour Championship 2023 preview
Kyren Wilson and Ding Junhui go head-to-head for a place in the 2023 Tour Championship final in Hull on Friday.
Both players are featuring at this stage of the competition for the first time as they look to remain on course for the £150,000 top prize at the Bonus Arena.
Ding is making his debut in this prestigious competition, having secured the eighth and final spot in the field.
The Chinese star is the only player of the eight not to have picked up a ranking title this season, but did triumph at the recent Six Red World Championship in Thailand.
Aside from his run to the final of the UK Championship, Ding has struggled to make inroads in ranking competition this season and had lost in the opening round of his last four ranked tournaments prior to his trip to Humberside.
However, he pulled off a dominant 10-5 win over this season’s star performer Mark Allen in the opening round, a result which also ensures he will head to The Crucible as a seed.
The 35-year-old is out to end a four-year wait for a ranking title and avenge his defeat to Wilson in last year’s World Championship First Round.
Wilson had suffered Quarter-Final defeats in his two previous Tour Championship campaigns (2019 and 2021) before making it third time lucky with a crushing 10-4 win over Ali Carter earlier this week.
The reigning European Masters champion has enjoyed a welcome return to form in recent months, reaching the Quarter-Finals of the German Masters and Semi-Finals of the Players Championship.
Wilson has won seven of his 13 previous meetings with Ding in all competitions, including five of their last six.
Their latest encounter gets under way from 1pm BST for a total of eight frames, before resuming to a finish from 7pm over the best of 19 frames.
Either four-time World Champion Mark Selby or reigning Players Champion Shaun Murphy will await the winner in Sunday’s final.
