The world’s best players make their way to Yushan for the 2026 World Open, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.
We are fast approaching the business end of the 2025-26 campaign, with just two more events before the season’s climax at the World Championship.
Before that, though, the game’s top stars head to Yushan Sports Centre, where the World Open will be contested from March 16-22 with a top prize of £175,000 on offer to the winner.
Most players were required to win a qualifying-round match in Barnsley last month to book their place at the main venue.
John Higgins is the reigning champion after beating Joe O’Connor 10-6 in last year’s final.
The Wizard was among the players whose qualifier was held over to the main venue, along with the likes of two-time winner Judd Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Xiao Guodong and World champion Zhao Xintong.
Mark Selby, Barry Hawkins, Chris Wakelin and Stephen Maguire were among a group of players to withdraw from the event, while former champion Neil Robertson chose not to enter and 2017 winner Ding Junhui was beaten in qualifying.
Nevertheless, there are four other former champions in the draw, including two-time victor Mark Allen, along with Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy and Ali Carter.
Matches up to and including the quarter-finals are to be contested over the best of nine frames, with semi-finals the best of 11 and final best of 19.
