Jack Lisowski and Stuart Bingham lock horns in a tasty battle of the qualifiers for a place in the World Championship quarter-finals.

Two of the game’s most attacking players – both of whom were seeded at the Crucible last year – go head to head, with a potential showdown against seven-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan up for grabs.

They met in the opening round here six years ago, with Lisowski prevailing 10-7 for his first victory in Sheffield.

‘Jackpot’ has gone on to reach the final following his last two victories over former champion Bingham – at the 2021 German Masters and 2019 China Open – and he will hope that serves as a positive omen this time around.

Lisowski overcame Ding Junhui 10-9 in a high-quality first-round clash that produced two centuries and a further 14 breaks over 50 between them.

The six-time ranking event runner-up is now aiming to match his run to the World Championship quarter-finals from two years ago, when he beat the in-form Neil Robertson 13-12 in a thrilling last-16 encounter before narrowly losing out to John Higgins by the same scoreline.

Meanwhile, Bingham is eyeing his third last-eight appearance in the last four years, and fifth overall.

The 2015 Crucible king made an impressive start to his 18th appearance, hitting breaks of 117, 98 and 76 on the way to a 10-5 victory over reigning Scottish Open and Welsh Open champion Gary Wilson.

The winner of this best of 25 match will play either Ronnie O’Sullivan or Ryan Day in the World Championship quarter-finals.

Play gets under way at 7pm BST on Saturday with the opening eight frames, continues at 2.30pm on Sunday with eight more, before playing to a conclusion with a maximum of nine at 7pm on Monday.
