Ronnie O’Sullivan is widely considered the greatest snooker player of all time, becoming the sport’s most wealthy star in the process.

The Rocket emerged as part of the ‘Class of 92’ and has gone on to win a joint record seven World Championship titles.

He is without a doubt one of the most influential British sportspeople of the last 30 years and has earned plenty of money along the way.

The 50-year-old is believed to have a net worth of roughly £20million, demonstrating his earning power far beyond the sport in which he has made his name.

Career Earnings Breakdown

O’Sullivan has earned a phenomenal amount of money playing snooker due to his continued success in the sport. He won his first ranking event at the 1993 UK Championship, taking home £70,000, and from there has won 41 ranking titles as well as 44 other events.

The Rocket won the Masters in 1995 but it was not until 2001 that he lifted his first world title, beating John Higgins to complete the Triple Crown aged 25.

He has gone on to win a record six more world titles, the most recent of which in 2022 and bagged him the £500,000 first prize.

In total it is believed that O’Sullivan has earned around £15million from his playing career.

Income Beyond Snooker

O’Sullivan has become a household name in snooker, renowned for his attacking style and unrivalled success.

He has worked with Eurosport as a pundit since 2014 and has written a number of books, including three crime novels and two autobiographies.

The first of which was released in 2003 and was titled ‘Ronnie: The Autobiography of Ronnie O’Sullivan’, while the second came out in 2013 and was called ‘Running: The Autobiography’.

The 50-year-old has worked on video games, cook books and even had an Amazon Prime documentary produced about his success at the 2022 World Championships, titled ‘Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything’.

To add to that the Rocket has also signed several brand deals and sponsorships along with exhibition matches and global appearances around the world, particularly in Asia. All of this work has significantly added to his net worth.

Comparing Net Worth in Snooker

O’Sullivan’s net worth is reportedly much more than some of his counterparts, considering his prolonged success and name recognition.

Mark Williams is reportedly worth £7.1million while Stephen Hendry, who has also been a seven time world champion, is reportedly worth £13.5million.

Why Estimates Vary

Celebrity net worths are always estimates and it is impossible to put a completely accurate figure on how much a person is worth when taking into account their private investments, expenses and taxes.

O’Sullivan’s true wealth could be even higher than reported here.

Conclusion

O’Sullivan’s estimated £20million net worth demonstrates his staying power as the sport’s number one star.

He is not just a big earner, however, he is widely considered the greatest snooker player of all time.
