Snooker Rich List | The top 13 all-time wealthiest players ranked
With prize money on the World Snooker Tour reaching record levels, we take a look at the top 13 richest players in snooker history.
The sport of snooker has always been a favoured pastime for audiences, the slow-burning, tactical battles on the green baize bubbling up before providing intense scrutiny and drama.
Television audiences have been enthralled for generations and the recently revamped World Snooker Tour means there is now more scope than ever before to see the world’s best in action with major tournaments in Britain, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The increasing prize funds and commercial appeal have ensured snooker stays relevant and here we are profiling snooker’s wealthiest stars, including today’s best and legends of the game whose skills have translated into significant financial success away from the green baize.
13. Kyren Wilson (England)
The Warrior scaled snooker’s biggest mountain in 2024 to win the World Championship at the Crucible as he beat Jak Jones in the final. The Kettering potter has 10 ranking titles on his CV including The Masters in 2026 and needs just the UK Championship to complete his Triple Crown set. His prize earnings are north of £4,656,000.
12. Jimmy White (England)
The legendary Whirlwind of London Town, Jimmy White is one of snooker’s most beloved stars and is still playing competitively in his 60s. White famously reached six World Championship finals and lost them all, including an 18-17 defeat to Stephen Hendry in 1994 – his fourth successive loss in the showpiece game. He did win the UK and Masters titles and was once one of the games’ most flamboyant stars. He’s now a regular television pundit and his career earnings are estimated at close to £5m.
11. Ding Junhui (China)
Ding Junhui was the first true star to emerge from China, with cue-sports incredibly popular in the Far East. The Dragon has won the UK Championship three times and is a Masters champ to boot but lost his only World final against Mark Selby. He has pocketed more than £5,338,894.
10. Steve Davis (England)
Steve Davis reached eight World Snooker Championship finals in nine years, won six world titles, and held the world number one ranking for seven consecutive seasons as he dominated in the 1980s. The Nugget has gone on to become a voice of the game as a pundit and remains an incredibly interesting man. His career earnings totalled £5,623,536.
9. Mark Allen (Northern Ireland)
Antrim ace Allen has followed in the footsteps of the great Alex Higgins in being the leading light from Northern Ireland. The Pistol has fired his way to the 2018 Masters and the 2022 UK Championship and needs just a world title to complete his Triple Crown haul. He has banked close to £6m in his career.
8. Shaun Murphy (England)
The Magician famously conjured up a World Championship win in 2005, becoming just the third qualifier to win the Crucible crown after Alex Higgins and Terry Griffiths. Murphy continues atop the game and has completed the Triple Crown with two Masters titles and the 2008 UK crown. Murphy’s career earnings exceed £6,768,212.
7. Neil Robertson (Australia)
The Thunder from Down Under remains the only player from outside the UK to win all of snooker’s Triple Crown events. He was champion at the Crucible in 2010 and won the UK in 2013, 2015 and 2020 as well as The Masters in 2012 and 2022. The Aussie ace has won at least £7,993,045.
6. Stephen Hendry (Scotland)
Hendry was unstoppable in the 1990s as he won his seven world titles in a nine-year spell, the likes of which may never be repeated. He won 36 ranking titles, including The Masters six times and five UK Championship successes and was the ultimate man for the big occasion. His career earnings tallied £8,804,081 but he retired at 43. He is now a respected commentator.
5. Mark Selby (England)
The Jester from Leicester is a four-time World champion and even made a 147 in the Crucible final in 2023 despite losing to Luca Brecel. He has also won The Masters and UK titles on three occasions each and has 25 ranking titles en route to winning prize money of £8,841,429.
4. Mark Williams (Wales)
The Welsh Potting Machine is the first of the Class of ’92 on this list and a true icon of the game with more than three decades at the top of the sport. The left-hander is a three-time World Champion, with two UKs and two Masters crowns. Perhaps his most famous success was a deciding frame, black ball victory over Hendry in the 1998 Masters. Williams has won over £8,860,254.
3. Judd Trump (England)
Nicknamed The Ace in the Pack, Bristolian Trump is one of the most stylish players in the modern game with his own brand of ‘naughty snooker’ often enthralling fans with outrageous potting when he is closing out frames. The 2019 World Champion has substance, too, with 31 ranking titles including two UK Championships and two Masters crowns. Trump has earned £9,562,871 on the baize.
2. John Higgins (Scotland)
It is often said the only way to remove John Higgins from the snooker table is by scraping him off. He is granite and renowned as a great match player and the man most likely to make a high-pressure frame-stealing clearance. He’s got four World Championship wins on his CV and this Class of ’92 graduate has won more than £10,756,719 making Wizard of Wishaw number two on our list.
1. Ronnie O’Sullivan (England)
The undisputed GOAT! Ronnie O’Sullivan has redefined the boundaries of possibility in his sport and The Rocket truly transcends the green baize. He’s broken almost every record there is with 41 ranking titles, 23 of them Triple Crown events.
His record tallies include eight Masters and eight UK wins and he has tied Hendry’s seven World Championship wins.
He has made 17 maximum breaks in competition, including one in a barely believable five minutes and eight seconds at the 1997 World Championship. Alongside Williams and Higgins he’s part of the fabled Class of ’92. O’Sullivan’s table earnings exceed £15,060,317 and his net worth could be well over £20m given endorsements and business endeavours.
O’Sullivan stands tall as the greatest star snooker has ever produced and his earnings are testament to that. It will take something special to surpass him but with the game growing in new lucrative markets in China and the Far East, stars like 2025 World Champion Zhao Xintong will have their sights set on getting onto this list.
