Snooker’s elite return to The Crucible for the 2025 World Snooker Championship, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.

The sport’s annual showpiece features the world’s top 16 ranked players alongside a further 16 qualifiers as they battle it out for £2.4 million in prize money from April 19 to May 5.

A host of decorated stars and exciting emerging talents lock horns at the sport’s spiritual home for the 49th consecutive staging in Sheffield.

Kyren Wilson is the defending champion after he defeated Jak Jones 18-14 in last year’s final to claim the crown for the first time.

Wilson is bidding to break the infamous ‘Crucible curse’ by becoming the first player to successfully retain the title at this iconic venue after being crowned a first-time World Champion.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is another player eyeing a slice of history as he returns in search of a record-breaking eighth world title to eclipse the joint record he currently shares with Stephen Hendry.

Other former World Champions in this year’s line-up include four-time winners Mark Selby and John Higgins, three-time champion Mark Williams and one-time winners Judd Trump, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and Luca Brecel.

Former world finalists in action include Jak Jones, Ding Junhui, Barry Hawkins and Ali Carter, while ranking event winners including Mark Allen, Zhang Anda and Chris Wakelin also feature.

Daniel Wells, Lei Peifan and Zak Surety will make their debuts in this year’s World Championship, while other notable qualifiers include the likes of Hossein Vafaei, David Gilbert and former UK Champion Zhao Xintong.

First Round matches are to be contested over the best of 19 frames, with Second Round and Quarter-Final ties best of 25, Semi-Finals best of 33 and the final best of 35.
