Jackson Page made history by becoming the first player ever to make two 147 breaks in the same match at the World Championship qualifiers in Sheffield on Monday.

The 23-year-old etched his name into snooker’s history books with a remarkable double feat en route to a 10-2 thrashing of Allan Taylor in the Third Round at the English Institute of Sport.

Page’s first maximum came during the first session on Sunday afternoon, marking his first in professional competition.

After Taylor had taken the opening frame of the second session Page hit back to move within one of victory, and sealed the deal in astonishing fashion.

The Welshman produced a nerveless second maximum break to scoop a staggering £147,000 bonus – available to any player who made two maximums during this season’s Triple Crown events and the Saudi Arabia Masters.

The 147 also puts Page in line for the £15,000 high break bonus which includes both the qualifying stage and main event.

“I’m over the moon,” Page told BBC 5 Live. “It’s a bizarre sort of feeling really.”

“I knew the bonus was up for grabs, so I went for it from the first ball and managed to make it happen.

“I felt the same way as I did winning matches and in the deep end of tournaments, the same sort of pressure. As soon as the 15th black went in and I was on the yellow, I knew it was going to happen.”

Page will now face Joe O’Connor in the final qualifying round on Wednesday as he bids to secure a third appearance at The Crucible.

His previous biggest payday came at the 2024 World Open in Yushan – where he received £32,5000 for reaching the semi-finals.
