The new snooker season continues in China with the Wuhan Open, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.

It is the fourth edition of the tournament at Optics Valley Gymnasium, taking place between August 23 and 29 with a top prize of £175,000 up for grabs.

A total of 112 players entered qualifying at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena in June, each needing to win three matches to book their places in the round of 32.

All last-64 matches involving the world’s top 16 players were held over to the main venue, as were four last-96 contests.

Xiao Guodong is looking to complete a three-peat in Wuhan, where he was triumphed in each of the last two years, beating Gary Wilson 10-9 in a thrilling final 12 months ago.

The reigning champion is joined by world number one Judd Trump, who won the inaugural Wuhan Open in 2023, along with the other two former finalists in Ali Carter and Si Jiahui.

Although John Higgins and Mark Allen have withdrawn from the event, there are still of star names on display, including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy and home favourite Ding Junhui.

China Open winner Mark Selby looks to continue his fine form. The Jester is among a cluster of players that could displace Trump at the summit of the WST rankings, with Neil Robertson, Zhao Xintong and reigning World champion Wu Yize also in contention.

All matches up to and including the quarter-finals are to be contested over the best of nine frames, with the semi-finals the best 11, and the final the best of 19.
