Judd Trump looks to maintain his dominant start to this year’s German Masters, as he continues his bid for a fourth title on Thursday.
The world number one is the most successful player in the history of the popular event, lifting the Brandon Parker trophy in 2020, 2021 and 2024.
Trump’s quest to add to his record-extending German Masters title haul has got off to a blistering start, with the Ace reeling off 10 frames without reply on the way to successive 5-0 whitewashes of Kai Wai Cheung and Ryan Day.
The three-time winner, whose last silverware came at the 2024 UK Championship, takes on Si Jiahui in what will be a repeat of the final in Berlin from two years ago.
Elsewhere, reigning champion Kyren Wilson continues his bid to join Trump on three titles against Wednesday’s maximum man Zhang Anda.
The Warrior has dropped just two frames in his pair of 5-1 victories over Robert Milkins and Anthony McGill. However, he faces a sterner test in Zhang, who is fresh from compiling the fifth 147 of his career against 2025 finalist Barry Hawkins.
The standout tie of the last 16 pits British Open champion Shaun Murphy against English Open winner Mark Allen, while Masters finalist John Higgins faces Xiao Guodong, who made three centuries during his last-32 victory over Jack Lisowski.
Neil Robertson also hit three tons against Pang Junxu in the previous round. The Saudi Arabia Masters champion takes on Ishpreet Singh Chadha, as former World champion Stuart Bingham plays 2023 German Masters runner-up Tom Ford.
Two-time winner Ali Carter’s reward for beating Ronnie O’Sullivan is a showdown with Xu Si, who defeated UK champion Mark Selby in a decider, while former Crucible finalist Jak Jones locks horns with Jimmy Robertson.
Play gets under way at 9am GMT on Thursday with all matches contested over the best of nine frames at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
