Jack Lisowski v Tom Ford live stream | German Masters 2023 preview
Jack Lisowski and Tom Ford do battle once more in the German Masters semi-finals when they collide at the Tempodrom in Berlin on Saturday.
It promises to be an enticing encounter between the tour’s two highest-ranked players yet to win a ranking event, with Ali Carter awaiting the victor in Sunday’s final.
Also arguably the two best players yet to land silverware, both will know they have a wonderful opportunity to shake off that unwanted tag this weekend.
The pair also locked horns at this stage of the 2021 tournament in Milton Keynes with Lisowski prevailing 6-2. But incredibly, that represents Jackpot’s only victory over Ford in their 12 previous meetings.
One of only four top-16 players to qualify for the main draw, world number 12 Lisowski is the last one standing after seeing off Zhang Anda, Jimmy White and Xiao Guodong this week.
The Cheltenham cueist is subsequently set for his third semi-final of the season, having also reached this stage at the UK Championship and Masters.
It is also his 11th appearance in the last four of a ranking event, while he has prevailed in six of his previous 10 such matches.
As for his opponent, Ford is seeking only a second victory from eight ranking semi-finals, though he will be buoyed by his dominant record in this fixture.
Ironically, his sole win at this stage of a ranking event also came in Germany, when he eventually finished as runner-up to Mark Selby at the 2016 Paul Hunter Classic.
Like Lisowski, the Leicester cueist has also built on his momentum having reached the UK Championship semi-finals in November.
After receiving a last-32 walkover due to the suspension of reigning champion Zhao Xintong, the world number 24 overcame Tian Pengfei 5-3, before securing his last-four berth with a solid 5-2 success over 2019 champion Kyren Wilson.
Play gets underway at 7pm GMT on Saturday and will be contested over the best of 11 frames at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
