Kyren Wilson v Xiao Guodong live stream | German Masters 2025 Semi-Final preview
Kyren Wilson resumes his bid for a second German Masters title when he locks horns with Xiao Guodong in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Two of the season’s in-form players go head to head at the Tempodrom in Berlin, with Barry Hawkins or Yuan Sijun awaiting the winner in Sunday’s showpiece.
Indeed, both players are appearing in their fifth semi-finals of the campaign, in which they have claimed a combined three titles, and have each hit five centuries already this week.
Wilson, who lifted the trophy in 2019, is gearing up for his fourth German Masters semi-final, having also reached this stage last year and in 2016.
The World champion recorded a trio of 5-3 victories over Ka Wai Cheung, Zhou Yuelong and Jak Jones – the latter in a repeat of their Crucible showpiece last May.
Wilson then overturned a 3-1 deficit to edge out Anthony McGill in the last eight, sealing his place in a 30th career ranking semi-final.
Meanwhile, Xiao finds himself in uncharted territory in Berlin, and he has certainly got better as the week has progressed.
This is the Wuhan Open champion’s 10th ranking semi-final, with just under half of those coming during this season alone (four).
After beating compatriots Fan Zhengyi 5-3 and Si Jiahui 5-4, Xiao was a commanding 5-1 winner over Elliot Slessor, before hitting breaks of 114, 113, 95 and 75 during his quarter-final whitewash of Aaron Hill.
Although Wilson leads the head-to-head 11-5, the Chinese notably prevailed 5-4 earlier this season in the last 32 in Wuhan, and he will hope that serves as a positive omen this time around.
The match breaks off at 1pm GMT on Saturday and will be contested over the best of 11 frames at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
