This week’s Coral Tour Championship has been postponed as a precaution against the spread of Coronavirus.

The event was due to run from March 17-22 at Venue Cymru in Llandudno but was called off just hours before play was due to commence.

The decision was taken after consultation between WST and broadcasters ITV4 following Monday’s announcement from the UK government that the public are advised to avoid social venues.

The Coral Tour Championship was initially due to go ahead behind closed doors featuring the top eight players on the one-year ranking list.

The tournament has now been rescheduled for July 21-26 at the same venue, with tickets transferred automatically to the rescheduled dates.

Fans who are unable to attend in July can contact the box office after April 1 for a refund.

Announcements on future events including the World Championship are to be made in due course, with all scenarios to be considered depending on further government advice.

The Tour Championship field will remain unchanged and is led by world number one and six-time ranking event winner this season – Judd Trump, with last year’s runner-up Neil Robertson aiming to go one better.

Former World Champions Mark Selby, John Higgins and Shaun Murphy will also feature, as will UK Champion Ding Junhui and Players Championship finalist Yan Bingtao.

Mark Allen, a four-time ranking event semi-finalist this season, will be seeded number seven.

Trump leads the Coral Cup standings with £132,500 ahead of Robertson on £100,000. The leader of the final Coral Cup standings will pocket a lucrative £100,000 bonus.
