Mark Allen and Jack Lisowski go head-to-head for a place in the 2022 UK Championship final in York on Saturday evening.

Two of the most exciting natural talents of their generation collide at The Barbican in a quest to remain in pursuit of the £250,000 Triple Crown title.

A new-look Allen has enjoyed a sensational season far, retaining his Northern Ireland Open title last month after finishing runner-up at the British Open.

The Antrim ace is appearing in his fifth UK Championship Semi-Final since 2010, having notably lost in the final in both 2011 and 2018.

The former Masters champion began his run this week with a 6-4 victory over his close friend Jordan Brown, before overcoming five-time ranking event winner Kyren Wilson 6-3 and in-form qualifier Sam Craigie 6-4 in the Quarter-Finals.

Lisowski has already broken new ground by reaching the Semi-Finals of a Triple Crown event for the first time courtesy of a string of sublime displays.

The world number 12, who had struggled for consistency in the months leading up to this event, has dropped just four frames en route to the penultimate stage, thrashing Xu Si 6-1, Hossein Vafaei 6-2 and 2008 champion Shaun Murphy 6-1.

His rout of Murphy on Friday saw ‘Jackpot’ fire in four century breaks in a row, only the ninth time that feat has been achieved in snooker history.

Interestingly, it is Lisowski who has dominated the head-to-head record between the two, winning five of their six previous meetings since 2015.

The most high-profile of which was a 6-5 success in the Semi-Finals of the 2019 Scottish Open – before Lisowski went on to lose the third of six consecutive ranking finals to date.

The match gets under way from 7pm GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 frames, with three-time UK Champion Ding Junhui awaiting the winner in Sunday’s final.
